Contact Lenses

At Evans and McMahon we have a wealth of experience in fitting many types of contact lenses.

Our products range from soft contact lenses designed to correct simple short and long sightedness through toric and multifocal contact lenses to more complex miniscleral designs used in the treatment of corneal disease such as keratoconus. Contact lenses have many benefits over glasses, particularly for active people involved in sports, or those that simply wish to have a “glasses free life”. Although typically thought as a younger person’s correction, contact lenses can be suitable for all ages.

We also have a particular interest in orthokeratology. Orthokeratology involves the overnight wear of a rigid gas permeable contact lens. The contact lens gradually and gently reshapes the eye overnight allowing for clear glasses free vision during the day. Best of all, the effect is completely reversible should you decide this type of contact lens is not suited to you.

Orthokeratology is best suited to people who have a low to moderate degree of short sightedness in each eye.

Please mention to your optometrist if you are interested in contact lens correction. They would be happy to discuss which type of lens will best fit your needs.
